Hello, I have a Philodendron that is getting leggy. The vines are long but there aren’t many leaves on them. Further, new stems aren’t growing so it’s not looking very full. I’d like to promote fuller growth.

I’ve been reading about where to cut the vines in order to promote this fuller growth. Some say above the node and some say below. Further, on a vine, is ‘above the node’ closest to the roots or closer to the end of the vine? I don’t want to be left with a dead, rotting stem.

let me know. Thanks

I have attached a photo. Should I cut at the blue line or the red line?

Above a node means closer to the top of the plant, your red line is below a node and new growth will come from the node.
