I think it's a silverfish. They're not poisonous; they don't bite or sting. They go after paper.

Getting very rare these days with central heating and a drier atmosphere in houses. Brings back memories of childhood, lying in bed listening to them scratching away under the wall paper, in the days when it was glued on with flour and water paste.
