Our corn didn't germinate because we didn't get any rain and I planted it to shallow.

What's something I can plant at this time of year. I'm thinking about planting more sweet corn but I thought I would ask for suggestions.

I still need to get these into my garden:
summer squash
green beans
basil
rutabagas
carrots
broccoli

Your garden should be signifantly similar to mine season wise. If your location is accurate I am about 3 hours drive north of you.

If it was my decision, I definitely would plant more corn. To me, it is one of the highest rewarding veggies we can grow. I would also plant peas...blackeye, purple hull, crowder etc. for their soil building capabilities as well as delicious taste.

I was thinking about planting some more "soldier" beans or "pinto" beans.

We are supposed to get some rain tomorrow so I'm thinking about planting more beans and sweet corn.

Soak your sweetcorn kernels overnight prior to planting them.

Those soldier beans sound like they would be good. I will try them later this year. Pintos are a mainstay around here. They love the summer heat.
