Hello all!

First off thank for looking at my post, the time is appreciated.

I hope this is the right place for this post-- I got this plant a bit ago and am not sure what it is so am unsure how to go about caring for it. Could anyone tell me what these are, specifically the one on the right?

Any insight would be amazing :)

Although its not exactly easy to say with any certainty what it might be - as your plant is very clearly extremely distressed and it would help to have a little history as to whether your plant has just recently started to look as it does and also it if it did at one time have flowers - my immediate thoughts are that what you have is a very poorly Kalanchoe - failing that my next alternative would be a Tuberous Begonia.

Either way if you could give us a little more information - it would help a lot in finding a solution to your problem :)

Thanks a lot for the reply!

I'm not too educated as far as plants go so I don't know what details are important, I'll give a bit of its history.

I received it in july at a funeral. At the time I frankly didn't really care about it and didn't care for it, no watering and very little light. I went to throw it away (It was a pot of multiple plants, the rest died and I took them out) and noticed the bit here still alive and wondered if its possible to revive it.

As far as its looking like this recently, I'm not sure since I didn't notice it til yesterday. I don't believe it had flowers that I ever noticed though.

I gave it a little bit of water and sat it near a window but that's all I've done for it so far.

It is hard to tell from this picture but I think it may be a begonia also. You can create a little green house for the plant to help give it some time to revive by cutting a water or soda bottle in half and setting the bottom part of the bottle over the plant.

I have no idea, hmm that actually looks like two different plants to me but I might easily be wrong! Sorry I am of no help, I would follow the advice Pat gave you and post a picture again when it perks up a bit.

In that case - as it does look as though there is a chance that it may recover - I think that the best thing to do would be to keep it in a warmish environment with plenty of bright light but no direct sunlight and water occasionally - meaning allowing the surface of the soil to dry out in between watering and see how its looking after a month of doing that and then perhaps you could post another picture to show how it is progressing - as hopefully by that time - because the leaves will have returned to their normal color and the plant should in theory be looking more like it is supposed to - it will then be possible to properly identify your plant and provide you with the right information on how to care for it.

In the meantime if you do have any further queries or need more information - please don't hesitate to ask :)

Thanks so much for all the replies everyone! I will post a picture later after doing all the aforementioned. :)

It has some dry dead ends and leaves here and there, should I be removing these? If so where should I be cutting?
