Thanks for the replies! I thought the leaves looked a bit like cyclamen, but I can't find an example with those type of blossoms. The same with peperomia caperata--the leaves seem a bit more ribbed and pointed then the one in question, and I can't find an example with those tubular blooms. Do you have a picture of one that is similar?
The flower shape is certainly right isn`t it! I would never have thought it belonged to the African violet family, and have not come across it before, but I reckon you have solved the mystery.
