I don't know of any "bad" organic fertilizers. However, I do think that the manure based fertilizers are better for most applications than the plant based fertilizers. I use Medina Green and Grow simply because it costs less here. It is produced 22 miles from my house. Most times many of the additives that are in the fertilizer are not listed on the bag. These additives such as mycorrhizae, greensand, humates and others are incorporated into the fertilizer in small amounts. I know this because I have been to the place of manufacture and talked to the president of the company, a great guy named Stewart Franke. I asked him what all was in the fertilizer and he told me. So, to answer your question I have to say to use Medina although I am sure that the others like Espoma, Fox Farm, Dr Earth etc. do the same thing. Just use whatever is most economical and easy to obtain, making sure that OMRI is on the bag.
