What kind of grass

Suddenly with all of this heat a new grass is appearing in my lawn. Anyone know what it is. Thanks

Possibly Crabgrass.

Works to prevent but once it sprouts you need a post emergent control like ACCLAIM (quinclorac). I don't know if you can get that for home-owner use though. The other thing that works, if you can still get it there (you can't here), is MSMA. It's an arsenic based chemical so probably no longer available ( Oh stop yelling at me). It does work selectively though.
