What is this Crazy squash

I am from England, so not familiar with squash, but that really is different. Did you grow it, or did it grow itself?

Sorry, but that's not a squash, it is a gourd and looks very similar to a variety called Autumn Wings. It is grown for decorative purposes and is not edible.

I bought a bunch of pumpkins and decorative gourds last fall and threw them in the backyard when they rotted. Then this sprouted. It grew itself!
