I have these critters on my plants (see center leaf in photo). I try to grow organically. What would you suggest that I use to get rid of them? I was thinking about neem oil in water and spray directly onto the plant.

Those are aphids. I never tried it but I remember reading on here someone said water with a bit of dawn dish soap and peppermint oil.

Dish soap will effectively kill them without anything added. But, if you are growing organically, why not get a product that will kill just about all insects plus caterpillars and soaps cannot do this. It is a spinosad based product sold under many different names. Probably the most recognized is named Captain Jacks Bug Killer. It is harmless to people and pets and can be used until the day of harvest. It is a natural substance derived by the distillation of a particular soil bacteria

Had same problem just as bad first I used hard burst of water.

Then sprayed with a mix of Dawn Dish Soap, Vegetable Oil and some Peppermint Oil.

Got impatient and got some regular spray it was half the price of Sevin but they are gone.

You can wait until about dark and use Neem.

What ever you do make sure you get the underside of the leaves.

Your using way too much Dawn Ultra dish soap. 1 tbsp/gal works. Cancel the added peppermint and Vegetable oil. If they reappear a week or two later, the eggs hatched and time to hit them again. Very important step no one seems to do.

I mix a Big Bottle

32oz of Vegetable Oil

2tbs. Of Dawn Dish Washing Soap.

And little Peppermint Oil.

8tps. To a gallon of water.

I use the Peppermint Oil because most Insects don't like it plus it is cheap.

I also have Neem if needed but want to put this on before dark because I've had it burn.
