What am I working with here?

Can someone help me identify this plant? It was in bad shape (wife has a brown thumb). I have spent the last six or seven weeks nursing it back to health and it is starting to recover. I would love to know what I am working with.

Succulent. Change its soil to cactus mix.

I agree. Some sort of succulent. Kalanchoe sounds about right.

Would be really helpful to know where you live or what your USDA growing zone is though. Questions like this are almost impossible to answer without having that very basic information.

Thank you. I appreciate the soil tips as well. Now that I know what it is I can research its proper care. I am in zone 6a.
