S many of you know, we recently moved to a new house across town. Before moving I did out several banana corms to relocate. I stopped them in 27 gallon totes for the move and labeled each one. Once here I replanted them but dud not have space for one, so I just popped it down in a relatively bad location not expecting it to do much.

Now this last month I've been watching them grow wandering why my favorite one, a variegated Florida, has yet to show any variegation. Today I noticed since flashed of red on it. Immediately fearing the worst I go look at the banana in a bad spot... Sure enough, a tiny struggling variegated banana! Apparently I miss labeled the corms and confused the dwarf Cavendish with the Florida!

Whole the Cavendish is likely to give more fruit, the Florida I'd my favorite for it's striking coloration. At the point in afraid to dig them up since they are just getting over the transplant shock and cold and starting to come up. The Florida pup is only a few inches tall right now.

Hate it when I do stupid things(n)

This particular plant also cost around $70! I'll try to nurture it until it gets a bit larger and then maybe transplant. They don't transplant well so small.

You're not alone, last Fall when I boxed my mini Dahlia to store for the winter I decided to use paper bags and write the name on the bag, at the end of winter when I got them out the paper had disintegrated due to the moisture and I could no longer tell what was what...they all made it and are growing fine (allover the house) but I cannot give them away until they bloom and I see the colors
