No other go. Had to deep prune our bottle brush tree (Callistemon) as it was a threat to our compound wall. It was also jutting out quite a bit blocking the road.

I hope it will get back with new shoots.

Aw sorry you had to prune it But sometimes, lkike in this case it was very necessary. My mom had to do the same with the tree that was outside the house, the tree was never the same but that is exactly what she wanted.

It will come back, although the shape will take awhile to become something nice. We've done the same to some here for other reasons. 10 to 15 years later they look pretty good.
