Where I live, there are two problems with using drip irrigation. One, the tips get clogged from all the calcium in the hard water, and two unlevel ground and clay soil the water runs off leaving the area. Same for soaker hoses, the water doesn't soak into the ground it runs off down the street or parking lot.
The drip line installation is a breeze compared to installing sprinkler heads. A lot of people I worked for made the mistake of wanting to save money on installation of drip lines. It's a big mistake if your ground is unlevel and clay soil because they waste a ton of water and don't do a good job. The best irrigation here is using sprinkler heads with the correct amount of pressure to dispense the water.
