Ok so, I acquired a PAR meter so I will know if I have adequate light on my plants. After much research, to get some colors on indoor cactus and succulents you need at least 500 or more umols. To get an idea, a hot summer noon sun is equal to 2000 umols, and a T5 HO flourescent bulb is about 300 umol at about 1 inch distance. After about a week from 500umols to 1600+ I observed some red appearing on the firestick cactus and more bloody red on the sedum cherry.

@Rey What brand and where did you buy your PAR meter? Are you pleased with it. I want to buy one, but the prices vary from real cheap to real expensive. I don't mind going for a few bucks, but if I do, I want one that is worth it.

Thanks, @Rey. After reading your post here, I started a thread asking members if they have a PAR meter and what kind, so I can look at a number of ones being used.

$150 for a used one; it must be an excellent meter.

@MoonShadows , I did research and they are expensive so I was researching for used ones, I am looking to modify it by replacing the top sensor with a remote one if I can find a part. The one model with built in remote sensor is $299 USD

Then we wouldn't have to come to the forum @alp. We could just talk over the fence to one another.

Scrap the headphone cable, the wire is insulated and too thin.. I use an audio RCA cable..looks better ..secured it with a glue gun
