Hi all,

I have been in my house for 2 years and I've got some sort of plant/tree growing all over in my lawn. I recently tried to dig one out and there seems to be a network of roots under the lawn, I started pulling it up and it went to another sprout poking up through my lawn. There are many sprouts and fear they're all interlinked. Does anyone know what they could be? Pictures attached, and also, the best way to get rid of them without digging up my lawn and ruining the grass?

I've replied to your question in the thread below @Mac78 , but sorry I can't identify the plant.

They do look like little trees. I would look around the area surrounding your property and see what tree could be seeding itself in your lawn.

I would expect that any broadleaf weedkiller would kill those but you may have to make several applications.

They look like root suckers from a plum or apple. If you’ve got either one somewhere nearby, look at the base of the trunk for similar sprouts. If it is one of those, you just have to live with it. You can’t kill those without killing the tree.
