Already did that. have two stumps, the centers have mushed out, so I dug them out and fill with soil. Planted hardy geraniums in there, they are doing very well cascading over the edge.

Those are very pretty!
The most unusual planter I've ever seen was a fancy metal bed frame with a flower bed where the quilt would normally go! I wish I had a pic to share. I saw this site driving through a PNW neighborhood!
