My suggestion is start simple, find what suits your climate plant wise and your appetite. We started small about 18 years ago and have morphed into a full on mini-farm with fruit trees, berries, grapes and all the veggies we can eat and give to family/friends. I never started with a particular design and tend to go on the fly. Just look at your land layout and keep good separation in your plants. Soil prep will be key to happy plants. I do recommend raised beds though.
