Greeting,

This is my first post, and my first time planting anything "I know I'm behind the power curve". But can anyone tell me what is going on with my tomatoe plants, looks like one is dying and one is being eaten. :(

TIA

Anthony

lower leaves
Then it is early blight. It is caused by soil splashing up on the lower leaves. There are fungal spores in the soil and the fungus is transferred to your plant. There isn't really much you can do about it except to slow it down long enough to make your harvest. The best way is to prevent it by mulching around the base of the plant but its too late for that now. What you can do now is to remove all of the affected limbs with a sterilized knife or scissors and spray an anti fungal on the plants. You can use Neem, a copper based spray, hydrogen peroxide, baking soda or even diluted whole milk for this.

outside plants got blight, inside hydroponics aren't doing well either. Man maybe i should just keep buying store vegetables. Very frustrated right now...

That is the fun of gardening. Frustration, disappointment and just plain failure. Wait until the really bad stuff starts happening to you.:(

I agree but it's not hopeless! I was hit bad with blight the last couple of years and while harvest was diminished I certainly was able to pick plenty of tomatoes. And for some reason my cherry tomatoes produced fruit like CRAZY even though by mid summer almost all the leaves were crunchy and brown.
