It is funny how I tend to think of pigeons as an annoying pest, but if I recall right, their meat is a delicacy to some? I believe it is referred to as squab?

I like them even though they have half me crops away.

Squab is the baby Pigeon meat.

They used to encourage them to nest in Dovecots so the lords of the manor could have them as meat. Of course they would fatten up on the tennants crops, but there was nothing the tennants could do about it







There's a rotating device inside that enabled them to access all the nests to take the babies

Never been a big fan of pigeons, but those pictures are beautiful. Over here pigeons nest everywhere they can and do it in big numbers, kinda messy. But I guess it's part of the surroundings My yard is full of these (much less messy than the big pigeons):
