Hello all gardeners here, I am new to the forum and need some help on a small retaining wall on my backyard.
As you can see in the photos. The lawn in the backyard is about 4 inches above the concrete patio. There is a wood retaining wall already but it's rotten here and there. Instead of fixing it, I am thinking to replace it with blocks.
Currently the wall is made up with 4x6 + 3.5x3.5 on top in a total height 9.5 inches. in front of the wall is a 4 inches river stones gap (for drainage I guess).
I am thinking to replace it with 16"w x 5.75"d x 4"h blocks. But that will reduce the river stones gap to 2.25". Will that be a problem? I a also thinking to not leave any gap, and fill the entire 8" with blocks, will this cause drainage problem?
