This popular programme is about restoring much loved items that people bring in.
Tonight, one of the tasks was repairing a 1960s child's Triang all steel racing car. It had been in someone's loft for forty years.
It interested us as I bought one for one of our kids in the late sixties.
What they didn't show was that the rear wheels of the car had suspension. Springs between the axle and the body, unusual in a kid's pedal car. It was very well made. It had to be. as ours was well used.
These old photos are of youngest son in his "chubby stage."
To be fair, he did grow out of it.
Like many of the toys our kids had, when they grew out of them we gave them away to kids whose parents might not have been able to spend as much money on them. I can't even remember who got this, probably the child of a neighbour where we were living at the time.
