Since it is almost the middle of August now that means that fall will be upon us soon once again. Are you looking forward to fall, what are your plans?

I don't like the thought of fall is at the door step, but the weather here is getting much cooler in the early morning and evening. I can also see some trees turning colors with their leaves! I just transplanted my chrysanthemum this summer into pot, so I am waiting for that :)

Dusk is here faster already, that is how I know fall is coming. I am not ready for summer to end I have not really had that much fun yet.

I hate hot weather so I am looking forward to the first crisp, cool late summer and fall days with the prospect of snow. :) I do enjoy summer for the outdoor opportunities and gardening but I am basically a winter baby.

Yes, I live in Michigan and I love snow and cold and ice and even winter driving! Although I do not love the higher utility bills. And by late February I am getting over bone-chilling temps and looking forward to spring. It's just somewhat magical when things start growing out of the iron-hard, frozen ground that's been encased in ice and snow for about six months.

We have no fall here but maybe the equivalent is the end of summer. Sometimes we look forward to the rains when the summer is too hot for comfort like the last one. But when excessive rains arrive, we wish for summer. With the plants, they are having a hard time now because of the excessive rains. Our extended garden is still inundated for already 2 weeks and some plants have already died.

Yes, I'm looking forward to fall. It's been really hot lately and my plants don't want to grow. I have to water some of them twice a day. It's the hottest summer I can remember. I hate it.

Oh yes!!! I totally want this horrible season to go away (the heat here is scorching), so I am looking forward to fall, but sadly over here falls arrives a little late, just like winter does :/ So I guess it's going to be other 2 months of heat...

Oh no! Not yet please Rosyrain! :) Those of us who live in Britain are still waiting for summer, it really has been dismal here this year!
:ROFLMAO:I relate Sheal. Our last summer was pretty mild overall so when it started cooling down we were all felt a bit cheated so now so looking forward to the warmer weather. Less than 3 weeks until spring. As I was leaving aqua aerobics last week it was very heavy hail and very cold so it's not over yet. A little bit of winter sun today which gives you a bit of a taste for some lovely gardening weather coming up:)

I'll be welcoming fall with open arms. It's been sweltering here and we're even looking at temps in the 100s by the end of the week

Fall is my favorite season, plus I am looking forward to planting bulbs for the first time ever! Any major "don't do"s I should be aware of?

Planting bulbs in your current heat TardisGal means you will have to keep them watered until they develop roots, to stop them drying out and shrivelling up.

Oh, I agree, At the same time, it is so important to not over water. Been there and done that before, much to my despair!

Speaking of fall, I have a love hate relationship with this time of year. Granted Fall is one of my favorite times of years with the break from the heat and beautiful leaves changing colors, it is a sign that frost could happen at any time. To see the first frost, really saddens my heart. I kind of go into a state of shock and depression for a few days.

I'll be enjoying the cool weather, changing leaves and fall foods. It's the only season that I like in this region.
