Has anyone had any luck growing veggies indoors with those artificial sunlamps you can buy? I was thinking about experimenting with this kind of gardening in the garage, but don't know if it would work or not.

A few years ago I started seeds indoors using regular shop lights. You have to have them down fairly close to the plants. I also put a fan on them to make them strong. It worked well and I don't see why you couldn't grow whole plants like that, but I dont know.

I would worry about burning down the garage. Those lamps get hot, and are not meant to be on for to long a time. Also electricity consumption would be quite high as well.

I grow a tomato plant indoors. It's really big already, but it hasn't produced any fruits yet:( Is it possible that it isn't getting enough sun? Should I buy a sunlamp?
