Stupid question

Is it ok to plant this jasmine polyanthum into the ground and let it climb on the wall from there? (I will put some kind of support to help it climb)

should I check for something in particular before planting near my house?

At our old house we built a kitchen extension that extended about two feet from the old house. I put a piece of trellis across the corner this made and planted a jasmine. By the time we left the trunks were several inches thick and it grew out over the back door on a second trellis. I worried a little about drying out under the house, but no harm seemed to come of it, and upstairs smelled wonderful when it was in flower.
