We have moved in a neighbourhood where there’s lots of wild cat. Unfortunately our place were infested with springtail the first year so I was thinking to remove the vegetation/mulch around the house next year or whenever COVID is over.
It might look too ugly if it were just rocks, so we are thinking of rocks with 1 row of boxwood or equivalent hedges there. Would the extra row of room between the future possible hedge and house attract the wild cat to build a nest there? Any idea what I could do to prevent springtail while not encouraging any nesting activity?
P.s. we also have issues with beetles, slugs, spidermites too this year. Have hired exterminator for a couple times already (actually our whole neighborhood has the same issue).
thanks
p.s. we are near sacramento area and the local soil is like clay.
