Sound blocking advice

Hi,

My house is surrounded by young children and not wanting to complain about children enjoying their freedom, I’m wondering what trees I could plant that might block some sound? I’d like them to grow to at least 8ft, Either in pots or in a 35cm bed (near a path so small roots required)

Any advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated

Hey Molly, definitely Shrubs and Trees are noise barriers. You should choose trees and shrubs with dense branches that reach all the way to the ground. For example, Plants, such as hollies and junipers, that have thick branches at ground level provide excellent noise reduction.
