I have not had good luck with tomato plants the past few years here in Southern California:cry:. I read a post on Pinterest that suggests tomatoes require (or at least do better) in acid soil.

Has anyone had any experience with this? I know that my soil is not acid, and wanted to hear others' experiences before I amend my soil.

Thanks for any input.

Tomatoes do best in acidic soils or at least slightly acidic. I had been growing tomatoes for 20+ years in alkaline soils but I moved to an area with slightly acidic soils, about 6.5ph and the difference is astounding. I have never had such rapid growth or production before.
