Imagine my surprise when I walked around my gardens taking stock of what tasks I needed to do to start my spring planting this year. I had planted some late harvest kale, lettuce, and spinach and an early and long winter dashed my hopes of seeing my first vegetables in my new home. I wasn't too sad; however, I figure this just takes time and patience to learn. Oh, but back to my surprise. I have three green plants growing!!! I don't remember what they are though. I cannot believe they lived through the coldest winter on record. Amazing.

It's surprising what survives, after the snow a few years back I found a Mizuna plant that was still going.

I took a look today and a fourth plant has made a comeback. I am going to have to get my little guide out and see what I planted. Looks like I will have some leafy greens!
