Siberian Miner's Lettuce (Claytonia sibirica), also know as Candy Flower or siberian Spring Beauty does occur in far-eastern Siberia but is more widespread in western North America where it is found in Alaska, British Columbia, and the western contiguous United States as far south as the mountains of California. This member of the Montia Family (Montiaceae) may behave as either an annual or perennial plant depending on local conditions, and like most members of the Montiaceae, its mild, succulent leaves are often used as salad greens.
