My wife and I recently took a trip to Sedona Arizona, I though I would share some pictures.

From Wiki -
Sedona is an Arizona desert town near Flagstaff that’s surrounded by red-rock buttes, steep canyon walls and pine forests. It’s noted for its mild climate and vibrant arts community. Uptown Sedona is dense with New Age shops, spas and art galleries. On the town’s outskirts, numerous trailheads access Red Rock State Park, which offers bird-watching, hiking and picnicking spots.

From My Perspective -
Sedona is a beautiful place that is tuned into nature. Buildings must conform to design and height requirements so they blend in well. There is good respect for nature in general. That said there are many option for outdoor explorations and adventure. The community and open spaces were typically clean and well cared for. For visiting Sedona offer a nice variety of lodging, dining and shopping in additon to nature. Also lots of history and geology to be explored. I certainly could have used a few more days to see and experience more of what Sedona and the surrounding area had to offer.

I learned a lot of movies (especially westerns) have been filmed in the area.

Very nice @Greenhorn...beautiful photo of the rainbow. I expect the climate is much fresher in the higher altitudes of Arizona than in the lower parts.

You don't have your location listed other than "United States," but where do you live that it doesn't storm?

I love a good thunderstorm!! Especially if there is lots of lightning. It's like nature's fireworks. "Ooh..Aah..."

Me too MaryMary. Sometimes a thunderstorm is forecast and it doesn't happen. Very disappointing:(. Not for our poor old 13 year old dog Max though:eek:. He's bit frantic even before we know there's one coming, barking at the sky, whinning , wimpering, won't or really can't let any one sleep. I bought him a super duper jacket last xmas last year which was meant to help calm him in a storm and in the car. Doesn't work but oh so slimming:p.

Yes, Sedona is one of our favorite places to visit. been there three times already. Did you get to Jerome? And how about the caves? we rented an off the road jeep, and had lots of fun going where no car can go. got to the grand canyon with one of the visits. Love the creative art colony there. Our last trip found us getting south first to Heronswood to see all the 28 species of Hummers, visited then we drove off the highway north, landing again in Sedona. The scenry driving up was wonderful. Love that area. It is such a diverse state.
