I started a garden last year in my second year of owning my house, I just had two 4'x8' and one 4'x4' raised beds. I mostly grew tomatoes and peppers and I think I did fairly well for the first year. This was in September, I got another month or so of growth and harvest after this picture (peppers and oregano in the foreground, tomato trellis' in the background). The trellis extension was added in haste, I'm going to make it flat and hopefully look a little better this year so I can pick tomatoes without a ladder.
This year I'm expanding a lot and will almost certainly need some help along the way which is why I'm making an account here. So far, I've added another 4'x8' raised bed, a 14'x14' enclosed garden with a larger L-shaped spagetti-style bed around it, quite a few 3g-7g containers and a long 4'x25'+ bed along my driveway. I still have to make some sort of protected area for my citrus do go outside and at some point I'm going to add a dedicated herb bed for next year. Anyways, 12 yards of dirt/compost mix and too many dollars spent on lumber later, I have the beginning of a garden. Here's a few pics, everything has pretty much been planted in the last two weeks:
Thanks in advance for any thoughts/concerns/advice. I'm off to the fruits forum to ask about nectarine pruning...
