Hi! I’m very new to this forum and also to the world of plant care. I was trying to regrow scallions in water for a couple weeks and they grew so fast and looked so great. But as soon as I moved them into soil, they started getting slimy and the white part got really mushy. If they grow in water, is it possible that they can get overwatered in soil? Or any ideas about what I might have done wrong overall? Thank you!

Roots grown in water are often too fragile to grow in soil.
Next time, just grow them in wet soil, gradually easing off the watering.
