Zehrs makes juice in store from produce. Here is a sample of the available products today. Nothing added just put through a juicing machine. The one containing Kale is their best seller.

A fruit shop near where I live sells fresh juices too, but they're not the same. A lot of ours contain carrot, which isn't something I see here. Kale is supposed to be very healthy and I've never seen juices with kale here, so I'd love to try that one. And the strawberry lemonade sounds interesting.

I've never tried kale juice. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't like it;) I'm not a big fan of carrot juices either. In my opinion they taste weird.
Usually, I juice oranges. It's a very delicious and refreshing beverage.

The mix and match system can mask almost any flavor if judiciously chosen. I use kale often, but there are many other greens just as nutritious. I no longer raw juice but cook all my produce then juice. I found digestion is more complete.

I posted the information, since I usually consider commercial juices to be almost junk food and this looked like an effort to actually produce something that has some merit.

This is very true. Commercial juices are junk food. Most of them contain unimaginable amounts of sugar, preservatives and other harmful, unnecessary substances. I'd much rather juice fresh fruits and vegetables by myself than spend money on something unhealthy and not very tasty.

I know exactly what you mean. I go to the supermarkets and look at the juices that say they're 100% whatever juice, but when you look at the small print, that's simply not true. And they don't even taste like the real thing. The ones we buy from the fruit shop are pure fruit and vegetables and they taste much better, but a naturopath I spoke to isn't even keen on those because she says that juices must be drunk immediately after they were processed. I haven't got the time and energy to do that - especially not having to clean the juicer.

I've never heard of anyone juicing cooked fruit and vegetables before. How does the taste compare?

I usually like carrot juice, though sometimes we've had a bad batch. The one we usually buy is carrot mixed with apple and ginger.

I doubt that kale would taste good on its own, but I'm keen to try it in the right mixture. I haven't seen any for sale around here though.

I kind of like carrots mixed with bananas and strawberries, but I can't imagine driniking plain carrot juice:eek:
As for kale, I know that it's very healthy, but in my opinion there are many leafy greens that are much tastier:)

I've never had carrot, banana and strawberry mixed. Maybe I'll try it if I can ever be bothered to make my own juice. I think plain carrot juice may be an acquired taste, but I've been drinking it since I was a child - though not regularly until recently.

I'm not aware of every having tasted kale, so I can't comment on that, but after reading its health benefits, I'm curious to try it. Again, I'd probably have to make my own juice though and it's much easier to buy the ones that are squeezed at the fruit shop.

Plain carrot juice is my childhood nightmare:p My mom used to make it for me at least once a week. I'd much rather eat a raw carrot than drink the juice.
As for kale, it reminds me of spinach. I hate them both. In my opinion broccoli and salad are much tastier:)

Well clearly I won't get you to change your mind then. :) Maybe you just need to find a good way to disguise the juice ingredients you dislike if they're good for you. I don't mind the taste of spinach, but I've never had it juiced on its own. We do get it mixed with other ingredients and that's actually one of my Mom's favourites. Unfortunately I can't think what goes into the mixture right now.

This morning I was in Zehrs and took a look at their raw juice displayed on ice. It was half price at $1.99. Apparently few people are buying. I suspect it will be dropped very soon.

That's really sad. The juices are very popular at the shop where I buy mine and they often run out of stock of the best ones.
