Hi, I have planted some small tree saplings on some rough ground, however, there are rabbits and other herbivores around the area, the usual protection is to surround them with those plastic tubes which are a bit of an eyesore, does anyone know of any other way I can keep those animals away? Say, by painting them with a long lasting repellant for instance, be it a modern solution or an old and proven way of doing this?

The plastic tubes are definitely the best bet. They can be camouflaged temporarily with other plants. It`s well worth putting up with the tubes though - nothing looks perfect all the time - a mirror usually reminds me of that fact  :bag:
