Hi Everyone,

First time growing from seeds and first time Gardner, really. I seem to be having some good success with my cucumbers, pepper plants, lettuce and a few others. However I noticed my tomato seedlings are on the thin side and have taken on a purple like stem.

I’ve read that it’s either a lack of phosphorous and/or the temperature. I pulled the heat mats all my seedlings once they sprouted, they in a basement which hovers below 65-70 degrees.

I’m curious which route I should take to help ensure they’re being fed properly.

For context: I planted seeds 10 days ago and pulled the heat mats and humidity domes 6 days ago.

First pic is my peppers, second are some other vegetables growing for reference and last is the tomato plants in question. (Yes, planning to thin! )

Appreciate any help!

Agree with @YumYum. Having said this IMO you should leave the plants on the heat mat until at least the first set of true leaves. I would try to maintain a soil temp of about 80F. Also, start thinning them out. Snip off the weakest plant now and in 4 or 5 days do it again until you have ended up with the strongest seedling. Do not fertilize until they have at least one set of true leaves and then only fertilize at less than half strength.
