purple robe locust tree, or options?

I lost my younger sister last fall. the cemetery care keeper is a relative and is going to let me plant a tree near her. I've decided on a purple robe locust (her favorite color), but just wanted to know of other options to consider (zone 5 I think, Louisville ky).
