Hello everyone! Hope everyone is alright.
I've had this capsicum plant for about a year,I grew it from a store brought capsicum, recently we moved and it took a beating to one of its branch, and im wondering if i trimmed off a branch it'll grow back better? The weather is still cold but it'll get warmer in a few months if that helps, I also recently put it in this big pot last month.
Thank you!

Welcome @gardening catto!

If it were mine, I think I would cut that stem in that middle open area to the left of the spoon and just above that joint shown there or alternately to just above the last joint showing at leaf level.

Do you know which capsicum variety it is? Capsicum annuum plants typically last for one growing season, while Capsicum Chinese, Capsicum baccatum, Capsicum frutescens, and Capsicum pubescens plants can last for several years but with declining production.

Hello! Thank you for the reply,
Do you mean I cut the joint that's right before the two leaves?

It looks to be capsicum pubescent as this image I found online are what usually they sell here.

At the blue line...
You might get several more years out of it. Good luck!

If you trim the damaged branch, it can actually help the plant focus on healthier growth. Since it’s still cold, just make sure it's not too stressed by the temperature change. Once the weather warms up, it should bounce back nicely. The bigger pot should also give it plenty of room to grow

Just trimmed it today! I think it has adjusted to the temperatures because I noticed some new growth on the damaged branch, I'll attempt to progate (?) the cutting and put it in a cup of water
