Propagating a pup

Hi all! I have an unknown succulent that is doing amazing. This is the second bloom I’ve gotten in less than 8 months. It looks like it’s actually put off alittle baby. My problem is…the other succulent in the picture I actually purchased with a baby but when I tried to propagate it, the pup died. How do I go about removing the pup and starting it on its own properly? I’ve never been very good with succulents but this one in particular is doing so well that it seems to be the one for me haha.

Any suggestions and tips would be very helpful!

Wait until it gets bigger. About 1/3 of momma's size. It should have some roots of it's own by then.
