Silent, I hope your garden likes the cold weather. We have had temps in the low 40's and upper 30's at night--the fall garden isn't phased so far! Hope yours survives and thrives.

Our zone here in Birmingham, Alabama was changed from 7b to 8a. I can remember frost routinely occuring by the end of October, but now our average freezing temp is Dec 20 and first frosts show up in Mid November.

I have harvested all my broccoli but have beets, cabbage, garlic, leeks and chard left. I buried everything with straw and leaves so I'll just have to wait until morning to see what survived.

Had ice on the car, but it only touched the tops of the nasturtiums

We made it down to 24° F. I still have tithonia (Mexican sunflower) in bloom, and it looks like they might survive the first hit of freezing temps. Temps should moderate above the freeze mark for the rest of the week, with lows in the 50's tomorrow.
