We have a ponytail palm growing in a pot indoor. The leaves at the top of one "branch" are going brown and look like they are dying. There is a second "branch" that looks fine. And all the larger lower leaves are also fine.

Any idea what could be causing this?

It is in a clay pot, with organic potting soil. We don't have too much natural light in this room, and it is relatively cool in there too. Is it lacking light? Too much or not enough water? Too cool?

We just bought it, and we hope to save it.

Thanks.

These trees are outdoor trees by nature. They will adapt to indoor living if the conditions are right. They need plenty of light and moisture. I had several growing in my yard in Florida. You will probably loose that stalk but it may sprout a new leader. If possible, put it outside until the temperature drops to 40 degrees F.
