Podocarpus trees

Hello I just planted about 40 podocarpus trees up against a fence and the over all look is very messy and a few trees are slanting to the sides. I’ve had mixed responses on if I should prune them so soon or not can anyone give some tips/advice on what I should do? I’m trying to get them to grow into each other and form a privacy wall. Thanks!
