Good evening,
We want to place wooden containers with plants. The dimensions are in inches 35/15,7/13 (LWH). The ctrs face south, so lots of sun and heat. Which shrubs / plants (+ - 49 foot) can we use? Preferably evergreen plants. The ctrs will remain outside in the winter. If they have beautiful, scented flowers, this would be a nice bonus, but not a must. We are currently thinking of Switch Grass (Panicum virgatum 'north wind'). According to information on the internet, this would grow to 49 foot, only die back late in the winter and prefers dry soil. We would appreciate if someone has good ideas on what plants we could use.

Thank you.

Welcome to the forum Yves. That Panicum will only reach about 5 feet maximum, and often not as high as that. For hot sunny places including pots Rosemary and Lavender would work well. For perfume during the winter months Sarcococca smells very sweet and for a bigger shrub Eleagnus ebbingei has tiny insignificant flowers that fill the air with scent.
