i am planting spinach, carrots, and romaine lettuce. How much sun will they need? What kind of soil will I need? Do you have any other tips? This is my first vegetable garden

First of all where are you located. All of the above vegetables are cool weather crops. They all need full sun for good results and the soil should be fertile and well drained

Are you planting the lettuce from seeds or from plants?

None of those three are in my personal list of "easiest" crops, except maybe the lettuce if it's from plants. They might all do just fine, but I'd suggest adding something extra easy. The easiest crop, IMO, is tomatoes from plants.
