Plant ID please afraid its toxic to my cats

Hi,
i purchased this plant today but there was no tag to tell me exactly what it is. I googled it and a close match looks like a Chinese palm? I locked it away and I’m hoping someone can confirm what it is and whether it’s safe around my cats. Sometimes they bite on plant leaves.

I would tend to agree with that identification. They aren't toxic to cats but keeping them away is best. Usually this requires being in separate rooms. You could paint some hot pepper juice on the leaves to discourage nibbling. It won't hurt the plants at all if it's just juice.
