A bit of an outline... my daughter lives in British Columbia, Canada and is looking for a perennial garden plant as a memorial. Roses aside she would like something with the name Bobby or Robert attached. Has anyone any ideas please?

My apologies. I assure you I meant well. In spite of the colloquial names, it's a good-looking plant.

No offence @Sheal, but that made me laugh (yep, out loud) Zigs is still tittering now. Don't worry @Meadowlark - we have a right weird sense of humour in this country

There's a Fuchsia called ''Robbie'' (my son's name) and a Dianthus called Little Bobby and a Lythrum salicaria called Robert

There is also a garden Phlox called Robert Poore - but that might not be suitable either.

It's not a problem @Meadowlark, you weren't to know. :) You will understand at this time I need to 'vet' any suggestions. Sadly the person that has this name passed away this week, and my daughter is looking for something to plant in his garden for his wife to look out on.

No offence taken @Tetters, you are right, us Brits have a weird sense of humour. :D In fact Bobby, being an Irishman would probably have laughed too.

Thanks for the suggestions. I looked at Fuschias but didn't come across 'Robbie' so I'll check all those out. I've spent a couple of hours searching so far and have come up with a few plants. I then thought Daffodils, those being a national flower of Ireland along with Shamrock and have found a few that are possibilities. :)
