Is anyone else in Zone 7 having issues with Hameln surviving the winter? It is not specific to Hameln as it was a rough winter for grasses, but, for example, we had 100+ Hameln die on one property this winter. Any advice on how to help them survive the winter???

Greetings, welcome to the Forums.

I've found references stating that Hameln Fountain Grass (Cenchrus alopecuroides 'Hameln', formerly Pennisetum alopecuroides 'Hameln') is hardy to USDA Zone 5 (-20º F/-29º C). I don't know how exceptionally low your winter temperatures were in the Winter of 2015-2016, but I suspect the amount of moisture in the soil was an important factor. Do you have any idea how wet or dry the soil was during that winter?
