Pear tree

Hi,

We're noticing that our pear tree has some parts that are dying and have sap on them. Any insights on this will helpful.

Do the leaves die, turn brown but stay on the tree? Have you seen the sap on the flowers? Do the dead limbs have a pronounced bend to them at the end? If so what you might have is fireblight.
