Help! I accidentally cut into my husband’s 5 year old peach tree with our zero turn mower. The cut is about 2 inches into the 5 or so inch trunk. The cut is very jagged. Is there any chance of saving this tree?

I would say that it will probably survive BUT, about 1/2 of the tree will more than likely die and the other half will have reduced production. It isn't all your fault though. One should not have grass growing under the tree anyways. Grass takes away moisture and nutrition. It should have been mulched heavily.
