Recently my folks got into planting Paulovnia trees and while we were looking up the characteristics of each subspecies there was a section (in wikipedia article) that said Paulovnia flowers can be used to make tea ( a hot beverage to be exact).
However it doesn't specify what kind of tea it is, and also if every species of Paulovnia flowers is edible. My trees are not in bloom yet, sure, but I would be reluctant to try a beverage from flowers that I don't even know what they contain. I don't like to play with these things.
I tried to look further into the edibility of its flower and/or its chemistry but couldn't find anything further. Has anyone worked with Paulovnias and tested that 'tea' theory for themselves?
