Texas has been in semi-drought or drought conditions for a couple of years. We were luckier than most in that we didn't have water restrictions, but it was plenty dry and we even emptied out our rain water harvesting cubes just to keep some vegetable plants and flowers alive..
It has been raining like mad all day--this on top of a wetter than usual April. Our aquifer was low, but now it must be overflowing! Our pond is over its banks, there are flash flood warnings out for all Central Texas counties, and we put the raised floor in the new coop in case the old coop floods.
Mother Nature, thank you for the rain, but enough already!
